K-STP was launched in 2008 at the request of overseas partner countries wishing to learn about the development process of the Daedeok Special Zone.

As of this year, the Special Zone Foundation has produced a total of 558 graduates from 81 countries. Through this process, K-STP has firmly established itself as a training program for the Korean-style science park model.

This year's program was attended by 20 science and technology policy officials from 20 countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia, Serbia, and T?rkiye.

During the training, participants learned about Korea's innovation ecosystem, technology transfer and commercialization systems, and industry-academia-research cooperation models within the Daedeok Special Zone. They also had the opportunity to directly experience the operation and achievements of the Special Zone through on-site visits.

Jung Heekwon, Chairman of the Special Zone Foundation, stated, "This year's K-STP provided a platform to share the achievements and know-how of the Korean-style innovation cluster and special R&D zones with science and technology policy officials from participating countries, and to explore future development strategies." He added, "The Special Zone Foundation will strengthen the international standing of the special R&D zones and lead the global innovation ecosystem."
