Kumho Construction Wins 63 Billion Won Daegu Metropolitan Road Project Contract

This project involves building a new road connecting Obong-ro in Joyadong, Buk-gu, Daegu, passing through the Donam Public Housing District, and extending to National Route 79 in Chilgok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Kumho Construction will be responsible for Section 2, which covers the segment from Joyadong to the Donam District. The company plans to construct a 3.5-kilometer, four-lane road, including two tunnels and three bridges. The total project cost is approximately 63 billion won. Kumho Construction, holding a 71% stake, will lead the construction, while Seohan will participate as a joint partner with a 29% stake. The construction period is set for 60 months.

The 'Joyadong-Dongmyeong Metropolitan Road Construction Project,' a long-awaited initiative in Daegu, will span a total length of 7.9 kilometers, with a width of 20 meters and four lanes in both directions. Once completed, the new metropolitan road network is expected to connect northern Daegu with the northern regions of Gyeongsangbuk-do, such as Gunwi and Andong, thereby easing traffic congestion. It is also anticipated to serve as a key connecting road to the upcoming Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport.

A Kumho Construction representative stated, "Through this project, we will establish a core transportation network linking Daegu and northern Gyeongsangbuk-do, contributing to alleviating traffic congestion in northern Daegu. We will continue to provide safe and high-quality infrastructure based on our accumulated construction experience and technical expertise."
