Kiwoom Securities' flagship AppTech service, the "Point Service," is gaining popularity. AppTech is a portmanteau of "app" and "tech," referring to activities where users complete simple missions on a smartphone app to earn small amounts of cash.
On September 11, Kiwoom Securities announced that the number of Point Service users has surpassed 200,000. The structure allows various activities enjoyed by customers on the Kiwoom Securities app to be converted into investment funds. The service has become popular by blending finance, daily life, and entertainment.
The Point Service was launched in November last year. By participating in simple missions on the Kiwoom Securities app (Hero Moon S#), users can earn points every day that can be used like cash.
The missions are largely divided into two categories. There are lifestyle missions that add fun to daily routines, such as checking in for attendance or viewing the "fortune of the day." There are also investment-linked missions that allow users to naturally acquire investment information, such as searching for overseas stock items, reading investment report webtoons, and viewing top-weighted stocks on Kiwoom Securities.
There are also a large number of missions through which users can earn points. In total, there are about 30 daily, weekly, and special missions. By diligently completing missions every day, users can steadily accumulate points.
One point is equivalent to one won. Points can be used like cash for activities such as purchasing fractional shares of overseas stocks, buying fractional shares of domestic stocks, or purchasing funds. Since fractional shares can be ordered with small amounts, users can use points to buy high-quality stocks. Not only can they easily invest in companies like Nvidia, Tesla, and Apple, but also in U.S. dividend Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and large-cap index-tracking ETFs.
A Kiwoom Securities representative stated, "The core value and competitiveness of the service is connecting fun and small profits in everyday life," adding, "We will continue to gradually expand both the ways to earn points and the places where they can be used."
