A New Travel Trend: Experience, Feel, and Enjoy
Second Event After Cheorwon, Aiming for Regional Cooperation and Tourism Revitalization
Hosted by Hyun Young, Featuring Trot Singer Shin Inseon, Sungmin, Oh Seungha, and More
The Gangwon Tourism Foundation (CEO Choi Sunghyun) announced on September 11 that it will host the 'DMZ Vibe Festa' on September 20 at Bungeo Island in Hwacheon County, in collaboration with Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province and Hwacheon County.
This festival is a border region tourism initiative designed in connection with the '2025-2026 Visit Gangwon Year.' Following the event in Cheorwon, this is the second border region festival, aiming to present a new model for tourism through a unique event that blends nature, music, and the local economy.
The highlight of the festival will be a special performance set against the backdrop of the North Han River in Hwacheon. The show will be hosted by broadcaster Hyun Young, with performances by trot singer Shin Inseon, Super Junior's Sungmin, and Miss Trot 3 contestant Oh Seungha, all adding to the autumn atmosphere.
In addition, in partnership with the Korea Tourism Organization, a promotional event for the 'DMZ Peace Road' segment of the Korea Dulle-gil Trail will be held. Micro-influencers will walk Course 22, starting from Paroho Observatory, and actively promote the charms of the border region on social media. After the walk, participants will also have time to enjoy the performances on Bungeo Island together.
To boost the local economy, a 'Hwacheon Tourist Site Self-Guided Exploration on Foot' program will also be offered. Participants who meet all three conditions-submitting a same-day receipt from Hwacheon County, voting for their favorite Hwacheon tourist destination, and following the official social media account-will receive promotional items.
For visitor safety during the festival, emergency medical staff and ambulances will be on standby at all times, and a safe environment will be ensured through close cooperation with the Hwacheon County fire and police departments.
Following Hwacheon, border region festivals are also scheduled to take place in Yanggu on October 25 and Inje on November 8. The Gangwon Tourism Foundation aims to develop the DMZ area into a leading peace tourism hub in South Korea.
Choi Sunghyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, stated, "This festival is an innovative tourism model that showcases new possibilities for the border region," adding, "Through sustainable tourism projects that grow together with the local community, we will open a new future for Gangwon tourism that satisfies both residents and visitors."
