Bonghwa Branch Tops Team Competition

The 11th Bonghwa County Governor's Cup Ground Golf Tournament, hosted by the Bonghwa County Sports Council and organized by the Bonghwa County Ground Golf Association, was held successfully at the Bonghwa Public Sports Complex.

The tournament, which took place on September 9, brought together over 150 enthusiasts from Bonghwa-eup, Chunyang-myeon, Moolya-myeon, as well as neighboring areas such as Andong, Yeongju, and Uljin. Participants competed and contributed to the growing enthusiasm for recreational sports.


In the team competition, the Bonghwa branch claimed first place, followed by the Andong branch in second and the Moolya branch in third. The Yeongju, Uljin, and Unyang branches received encouragement awards. In the individual competition, Chae Jongdap from Yeongju took first place, while Kang Jeongok and Ryu Gibal, both from Andong, secured second and third place, respectively.


Hyunguk Park, Bonghwa County Governor, stated, "Ground golf is a leading recreational sport that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy. It greatly contributes to the health and leisure of our residents. We will continue to do our best to promote recreational sports and improve the quality of life."


Jonghwa Park, President of the Bonghwa County Sports Council, also commented, "This tournament was a meaningful opportunity for enthusiasts across the province to interact and foster unity. We will work to further develop and expand the reach of various recreational sports."


The Bonghwa County Governor's Cup Ground Golf Tournament has established itself as more than just a competition; it serves as a platform for interregional exchange and intergenerational communication through recreational sports. It is especially meaningful as it promotes both public health and community harmony.
