The public health center set a new milestone in strengthening the local health safety network by winning the Excellence Award at the "2025 Gyeongsangbuk-do Public Health Center Rapid Response Team Simulation Training Competition," held at the Saemaul Undong Theme Park in Gumi City on September 4.

This competition simulated a large-scale fire resulting in multiple casualties, with all stages-such as emergency patient triage, establishing a transport system, and real-time situation reporting and communication-conducted as if in a real-life scenario. Among the 22 public health centers from cities and counties in North Gyeongsang Province that participated, the Gimcheon City Public Health Center stood out for its systematic initial response and calm crisis management skills.

In particular, the center received high marks for its unwavering response to unexpected situations and its accurate patient triage and transport process. Additionally, during the side event "Golden Bell on Disaster Laws and Emergency Medical Manuals," a Gimcheon City Public Health Center staff member was the last one remaining, further energizing the atmosphere at the venue.

Hwang Hoonjung, the head of the public health center, stated, "This achievement is the result of all our staff working hard together," and emphasized, "We will continue to prioritize protecting the lives and safety of our citizens by preparing for various crises, including infectious diseases and disasters."

Building on this award, the Gimcheon City Public Health Center plans to continue implementing practical policies and training, including advancing the local health crisis response system, fostering professional personnel, and improving the emergency patient management system.

This award is significant not only as an achievement but also as evidence that the Gimcheon City Public Health Center has established itself as a "real-world disaster response model." Attention is now focused on whether the "Gimcheon Public Health Center Standard" for local safety will spread throughout North Gyeongsang Province.
