Decomposed Body Found in Car Registered to US Singer D4vd
Police: "Investigation Underway, Homicide Not Ruled Out"
D4vd: "Currently on World Tour, Cooperating with Authorities"
The police have launched an investigation after the decomposed body of a woman was discovered in a vehicle registered under the name of famous American singer D4vd (real name David Anthony Burke, 20).
On September 9 (local time), international media outlets such as the New York Post and ABC reported that the body, placed inside a bag, was found in D4vd's Tesla vehicle at a tow yard in Los Angeles, United States. The vehicle had reportedly been abandoned in the city a few days earlier and was subsequently towed to the lot.
The investigation began after employees at the storage facility reported a strong odor coming from the car. The Los Angeles police stated, "A body was found inside a plastic bag in the front trunk of the vehicle," adding, "It was already in a state of severe decomposition."
The body has been identified as female, but her exact identity and cause of death have not yet been determined. The police are continuing their investigation, considering multiple possibilities, including homicide. However, due to the severe condition of the remains, it is expected to take considerable time to establish the precise time and circumstances of death.
The vehicle in which the body was found is one of several owned by D4vd and is reportedly used by people close to him. D4vd's representatives stated regarding the incident, "We have been notified about the case and, despite being on tour, are actively cooperating with the authorities' investigation."
D4vd is a rising artist who debuted after gaining attention on TikTok, and is known for hit songs such as "Romantic Homicide" and "Here With Me." He released his first full-length album in April of this year and is currently on the "Withered World" world tour.
In May, he performed on Mnet's "M Countdown" stage, and in June, he released the song "Always Love," featuring Hyunjin of the group Stray Kids, gaining significant attention in South Korea as well. After his appearance on M Countdown, he posted on his social media, "I can't believe I performed on M Countdown. I'm officially a K-pop idol now, D4vd oppa," drawing attention from fans.
