To Be Distributed from September 15 to 26
Gochang County in North Jeolla Province will distribute the "Farmer Public Interest Allowance" before the Chuseok holiday.
According to the county on September 10, this payment is being implemented to stabilize the livelihoods of farmers and revitalize the local economy. To maximize convenience for residents, the allowance will be delivered through a visiting administrative service and provided in the form of Gochang Sarang gift certificates, the county's local currency.
This year, a total of 12,438 people are eligible to receive the allowance. The county accepted applications from February to the end of May, and finalized the recipients after thoroughly verifying their addresses, maintenance of farm management status, the presence of non-agricultural income, and any violations of relevant laws.
The total payment amount is approximately 6.7 billion won. The county expects to complete the distribution before Chuseok, helping stabilize the livelihoods of farming households affected by heavy rains and heat waves, and supporting holiday consumption.
The allowance will be distributed from September 15 to 26. For those who applied for the card type, the amount will be automatically credited to their personal cards. For those who applied for the paper type, public officials will visit village halls in person to deliver the gift certificates.
County Governor Shim Deokseop stated, "The Farmer Public Interest Allowance is a valuable foundation for the sustainable future of agriculture and rural communities. We will do our utmost to provide tangible convenience to residents through visiting administrative services and to invigorate the local economy."
