Busan Port Authority Conducts Special Safety Inspections at North Port Redevelopment Sites

Strengthening On-Site Safety Management Against Typhoons and Abnormal Weather
Support Provided for Worker Encouragement Supplies

Busan Port Authority (BPA), led by President Song Sanggeun, has taken steps to strengthen safety at the North Port redevelopment project sites in preparation for abnormal weather conditions such as typhoons.

From September 4 to September 10, BPA conducted special safety inspections at four locations within the North Port redevelopment project sites.

This inspection was organized to proactively respond to the recent increase in abnormal weather events and to reinforce the safety management system at construction sites.

The inspection team focused on key areas, including whether each site had established emergency evacuation plans, the implementation status of risk assessments, and compliance with disaster prevention technical guidance. In addition, to boost the morale of on-site workers, encouragement supplies such as health drinks and portable fans were distributed.

BPA stated that any deficiencies identified during the inspections would be immediately corrected, and records of noted issues would be managed to prevent similar cases from recurring in the future.

Song Hoon, Head of the Port Regeneration Project Division, emphasized, "As damage from abnormal weather becomes more frequent, it is crucial to thoroughly inspect and promptly address even minor risk factors in advance. We will continue to prioritize worker safety and provide ongoing inspections and support at the sites."
