Busanjin Girls' Commercial High School Wins 18 Awards, Including 6 Gold Medals
Outstanding Achievements in Specialized Education
Students from specialized commercial high schools in Busan have demonstrated the competitiveness of the region's specialized education by achieving outstanding results at a nationwide competition.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) announced on September 10 that students representing Busan won a Minister of Education Award (1 student), 8 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 18 bronze medals (teams) at the 15th National Commercial Competition, which was held in North Gyeongsang Province from September 2 to 4.
This competition was hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education. Over 1,600 participants selected from 17 cities and provinces across the country competed in 11 contest categories and 4 performance categories.
Busan was represented by 130 students from 14 schools. In particular, Busanjin Girls' Commercial High School stood out by sweeping a total of 18 awards, including 1 Minister of Education Award, 6 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals.
Kim Minju, a second-year student at Busanjin Girls' Commercial High School, took first place nationwide in the "Entrepreneurship Practice" category and received the Minister of Education Award. Other second-year students from the same school-Lee Ahyeon (Entrepreneurship Practice), Shim Seongri (Financial Practice), Moon Jeongwon (Tax Practice), Pyo Yerim (Career Planning Presentation), Jeong Hyein (Economics Golden Bell), and Jeong Seohui (Economics Golden Bell)-each won gold medals. In addition, Kang Seungwoo, a third-year student at Haeundae Tourism High School (Hotel Food and Beverage Service), and Oh Dakyung, a second-year student at Busan Marketing High School (Career Planning Presentation), were also listed among the gold medalists.
Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "These are proud achievements born from the students' hard work and dedication," adding, "I hope this competition serves as a stepping stone toward even greater dreams. We will continue to provide strong support for specialized education."
