'Startup Nurturing' Hyundai Motor Chung Mongkoo Foundation Receives Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation

The Hyundai Motor Chung Mongkoo Foundation has received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare in recognition of its contributions to discovering and supporting promising startups.

On September 10, the Hyundai Motor Chung Mongkoo Foundation announced that it was awarded the "2025 Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation for Contributions to Social Service Activation" at the opening ceremony of the "2025 Korea Social Service Expo," held on September 9 at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul.

This ministerial commendation is awarded to individuals or organizations that have proactively and innovatively carried out projects to address new demands in social services.

The foundation is engaged in a variety of activities aimed at solving social issues. Among them, the "H-OnDream Startup Ground," which has been operated since 2012, is a program dedicated to discovering and nurturing impact startups that work to address social problems. To date, it has supported 354 startup teams, maintaining a survival rate of 77%. The program has created 6,569 jobs, achieved cumulative sales of 1.254 trillion won, and attracted a total investment of 377.9 billion won.

Eleven impact startup teams in the social service sector, selected through the H-OnDream Startup Ground, will participate in booth exhibitions at the "2025 Korea Social Service Expo," where the award ceremony was held.

In addition to supporting startups in the social service sector, the foundation has also worked to address social issues through medical programs. In partnership with Seoul St. Mary's Hospital of the Catholic University of Korea, the foundation has run the "OnDream Charity Health Checkup" program, providing preventive early diagnosis opportunities to individuals who cannot afford health checkups due to financial difficulties. For those requiring further treatment after the checkup, the foundation has also provided support for future outpatient care expenses.

Jung Moosung, Chairman of the Foundation, stated, "I believe this award is a recognition of the foundation's diverse efforts to help solve challenges throughout our society," and added, "We will continue to drive sustainable change in all areas of society going forward."
