Apple unveiled its new Apple Watch, which calculates users' sleep scores, and the AirPods Pro 3, which features hearing aid functionality, on September 10 (Korean time).
On this day, Apple introduced the smartwatches "Apple Watch Series 11" and "Apple Watch Ultra 3," as well as the AirPods Pro 3.
First, the Apple Watch Series 11 features up to 24 hours of battery life and a display with twice the scratch resistance compared to previous models. During the day, the Apple Watch serves as a fitness companion that tracks activity and provides motivation, while at night, it acts as a health manager by monitoring sleep and providing a sleep score.
The cover glass on the aluminum model offers twice the scratch resistance compared to previous versions, while the titanium model is covered with sapphire crystal, a material known for its shatter resistance.
During the event, Apple shared stories of users who were rescued or had their lives saved thanks to the Apple Watch after experiencing accidents or medical emergencies. The Apple Watch is equipped with features such as fall and crash detection and heart rate monitoring, enabling it to identify emergencies and request help.
At night, powerful sensors capture data such as heart rate, wrist temperature, blood oxygen levels, and respiratory rate during sleep. With watchOS 26 and the sleep score feature, users can better understand their sleep quality and identify sleep methods that offer greater restorative effects.
It supports fast charging, providing up to 8 hours of battery life with just a 15-minute charge. Prices start at 599,000 KRW, and the official launch is scheduled for September 19.
Dubbed the "ultimate sports watch," the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is equipped with the largest OLED display ever on an Apple Watch, delivers precise GPS performance, and boasts up to 12 hours of battery life with just a 15-minute charge. Its enhanced antenna allows connection to satellites up to 1,300 km away from the Earth's surface, making it safer to explore remote areas.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 supports "Workout Buddy," a fitness experience powered by Apple Intelligence. Workout Buddy analyzes users' workout data and fitness history to provide personalized voice motivation based on metrics such as heart rate, pace, distance, activity rings, and personal fitness milestones.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is priced starting at 1,249,000 KRW and is available in natural or black titanium.
The Bluetooth earphones AirPods Pro 3 feature enhanced noise cancellation and improved stability and comfort, based on user research. With an IP57 rating for resistance to sweat and moisture, they can be used during intense workouts or in rainy weather.
The new hearing test and hearing aid functions stand out. Using air conduction, the device creates a hearing profile and allows users to conduct hearing tests in quiet environments. The hearing test plays a series of sounds through the AirPods, and users tap the screen when they hear a sound.
The test results show the type of hearing loss in each ear according to World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. Users with mild or moderate hearing loss can use the hearing aid function, which can also be adjusted to the user's preferred hearing level. When the hearing aid function is activated, it amplifies not only the volume of content such as movies and music but also ambient sounds.
The AirPods Pro 3 are priced starting at 369,000 KRW and will officially launch on September 19.
