On Wednesday, the 10th, heavy rain is expected to fall mainly in the southern regions and Jeju Island.
In the southeastern part of North Jeolla Province, rain will continue until dawn. South Jeolla Province and the Gyeongsang region will see rain until the morning, and light rain is also expected in the southeastern part of South Chungcheong Province. On Jeju Island, rain will persist until the night of the 11th. Until dawn on the 10th, Jeju Island is forecast to receive very heavy rainfall of about 30 to 50 mm per hour, while South Jeolla Province and South Gyeongsang Province may see around 30 mm per hour, accompanied by gusty winds, thunder, and lightning. The expected precipitation amounts are as follows: Jeju Island, 20 to 80 mm (with some areas exceeding 100 mm); Gwangju, South Jeolla Province, Busan, Ulsan, South Gyeongsang Province, and the southern part of North Gyeongsang Province, 10 to 60 mm (with some areas exceeding 80 mm); central and northeastern North Gyeongsang Province, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo, 5 to 30 mm; and inland North Jeolla Province, 5 to 20 mm.
The morning low temperatures are forecast to range from 15 to 22 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs are expected to reach 26 to 32 degrees Celsius. These temperatures are higher than the seasonal averages (morning 15 to 21 degrees, daytime 25 to 28 degrees). In western regions, the maximum perceived temperature will rise to around 31 degrees, resulting in hot and humid conditions, and Jeju Island is expected to experience tropical nights.
Between dawn and morning, inland areas will see fog reducing visibility to less than 1 km. Roads near rivers, lakes, and valleys may have even denser fog than surrounding areas, so extra caution is advised for traffic safety.
Waves in the sea are expected to reach 0.5 to 1.5 meters off the east and south coasts, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters off the west coast. In the offshore areas (up to about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are forecast to be 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the West and South Seas. The period of Baekjung Sari, when the sea level is at its highest during the year, will continue until the 11th.
