On September 9, Gwangju City announced that it would operate a variety of support programs during the '2025 Hyundai World Archery Championships,' which runs until the 28th, to help domestic and international participants and visitors experience the charms of Gwangju and to vitalize local tourism.

During the event, the city will run the 'Host City Tour' program for athletes and officials, allowing them to explore downtown Gwangju and its surrounding areas. The downtown course includes Jeonil Building 245, the Asia Culture Center (ACC), Chungjang-ro, and Yangnim-dong. The suburban tour covers the May 18th National Cemetery, Damyang Juknokwon Bamboo Forest, Gwanbangjerim Forest, Metasequoia Road, and Changpyeong Village. Professional guides fluent in foreign languages will accompany the tours, offering in-depth historical and cultural commentary to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of Gwangju and nearby regions.

Additionally, the city has enhanced transportation convenience during the championships by providing a Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) service. Users can call a vehicle by entering their desired bus stop and destination within 13 designated zones through the 'Gwangju Tour Bus' app. The service supports transit with transportation cards and offers various fare options, including single-ride and 24-hour passes, to improve user convenience. This service operates from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

At the Gwangju International Archery Center and the May 18th Democracy Square, where the championships are being held, 'Mobile Tourist Information Centers' have been set up to provide multilingual guidance, information on tourism, accommodations, and restaurants, as well as on-site events and a stamp tour. In addition, tourism guidebooks and maps produced in four languages are being distributed to help participants and spectators easily access the latest information.

The city also plans to strengthen online promotion through the 'Gwangju Tourism' website and the 'Visit Gwangju' social media channels (Instagram, blog, Facebook, etc.), and to actively showcase Gwangju's diverse attractions by spreading coverage content from the Omegwangju press corps both domestically and internationally.

Lee Seungkyu, Head of the New Vitality Promotion Headquarters, said, "We will actively support visitors so they can experience Gwangju's culture and tourism through this international event," adding, "We will do our utmost to widely promote Gwangju's unique charms at home and abroad and to revitalize local tourism through this occasion."
