Chairman Jin made these remarks while attending the "Korea-Japan Financial Cooperation Seminar" held over two days, on the 4th and 8th, at the Korea Exchange in Yeouido, Seoul.

The seminar was organized to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan, with the aim of exploring cooperation measures in the fields of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and digital innovation, and to strengthen partnerships between financial institutions of both countries. The event was hosted by the Graduate School of Environmental Finance at Yonsei University and sponsored by Shinhan Financial Group.

Attendees included representatives from Shinhan Financial Group, domestic and international universities and research institutes, the Japan Financial Services Agency, the Asia Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association, the Asian Development Bank, and other major overseas financial institutions. Participants shared best practices from both countries and discussed future directions for development.

The seminar on the 4th focused on "the role of transition finance and the emissions trading system." Shinhan Financial Group shared its strategies for promoting low-carbon transition and the current status of its management system, centering on the "Group Transition Finance Guidelines" established in May as the first among Korean financial companies. The company also announced future plans for building a sustainable society.

The seminar on the 8th was held under the theme of "Building a Digital Bond Market," with discussions on the development of digital bond market platforms and the digitalization of emissions trading. On this day, Yutaka Ito, Commissioner of the Japan Financial Services Agency, and Chairman Jin both delivered congratulatory remarks.

Chairman Jin emphasized, "Digital bonds will not only enhance the transparency and efficiency of the financial market but also bring about innovative changes in the financial industry. Shinhan Financial Group will serve as a bridge for cooperation between Korea and Japan, and will actively contribute to the development of transition finance and the establishment of a digital bond market."

Commissioner Ito stated, "This seminar is a meaningful opportunity to discuss the cross-border fundraising environment based on digital technology. The Japan Financial Services Agency will also work closely with Korea to share experiences in virtual asset systems and the development of the digital bond market, and will actively support efforts to connect these to sound innovation."
