Mayor Park Dongsik and Senior Officials Lead the Way in Fostering a Culture of Integrity in Sacheon City

The 3rd Anti-Corruption Integrity Promotion Team Meeting Held

Mayor Park Dongsik and senior officials are taking the lead in fostering a culture of integrity among public officials in Sacheon City, Gyeongnam Province.

On September 9, Sacheon City announced that it held the "2025 3rd Anti-Corruption Integrity Promotion Team Meeting" in the mayor’s office, presided over by Mayor Park Dongsik and attended by senior officials, including department and division heads.

The Integrity Promotion Team is comprised of Mayor Park Dongsik and senior officials at grade 4 or above. It serves as a control tower for advancing integrity policies by inspecting the current status of integrity initiatives and systematically managing anti-corruption efforts.

During this meeting, participants shared case studies on the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act and guidelines for eradicating workplace abuse, and discussed improvement measures for areas vulnerable to corruption, exchanging a variety of opinions aimed at enhancing overall integrity.

They also sought practical measures to promote integrity, such as raising awareness about violations of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, workplace bullying (abuse of power), and breaches of work regulations, while discussing anti-corruption improvement plans.

In particular, with the Chuseok holiday approaching, Mayor Park emphasized the strict prohibition of receiving money, entertainment, or gifts, as well as drinking alcohol from work-related parties, and called for active implementation of the four main strategies to strengthen discipline among public officials and improve integrity.

The four main strategies for enhancing integrity are: anti-corruption activities led by senior officials, spreading ethical awareness and a culture of integrity, operating fair and transparent systems, and focusing on improving and responding to areas vulnerable to corruption.

Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "Senior officials are the compass of the organization," and urged, "Let us work together to create an organizational culture where integrity is a part of everyday life."
