White House: "No Drawings or Signatures"
An "obscene letter" that President Donald Trump of the United States sent to the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender of minors, on Epstein's 50th birthday in 2003 has been released. Since President Trump has repeatedly denied the existence of such a letter, claiming he is not good at drawing, controversy is expected to resurface over whether he lied.

On September 8 (local time), the U.S. House Oversight Committee released a letter from President Trump that appeared in Epstein's "birthday book," which the committee had received from the attorneys serving as co-executors of Epstein's estate. The letter features an outline of a naked woman, with a dialogue between "Jeffrey" and "Donald" written above it, and concludes with the message, "Happy birthday, and may each day be another wonderful secret."
Below the message is the sender's name, Donald J. Trump, with the signature "Donald." The signature closely resembles President Trump's distinctive handwriting. Circumstantial evidence suggests that the birthday greeting was typed and printed, with the drawing and signature added afterward.
The birthday letter released on this day stands in direct contradiction to the statements previously made by President Trump and the White House regarding this incident. President Trump has insisted that he did not write the letter and has filed a lawsuit against outlets such as The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) seeking $10 billion (approximately 14 trillion won) in damages.
President Trump has also refuted reports that the letter depicted a naked woman, stating, "I am not someone who draws," and, "I especially do not draw women." The so-called "Epstein files," which contain investigative records on Epstein, reportedly mention President Trump's name multiple times. The White House has dismissed as "fake news" a WSJ report that Attorney General Pam Bondi was aware of this and reported it to President Trump.
However, based on the newly released letter, it is difficult to substantiate claims that President Trump's name was mentioned multiple times in the Epstein files or that he was included in Epstein's "client list." Although the Department of Justice has recently released portions of the Epstein files in response to repeated congressional requests, most of the information was already known and did little to uncover the substantive truth.
Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's former girlfriend and currently incarcerated accomplice, testified to the Department of Justice that she does not remember the names she saw while compiling the birthday book (a collection of birthday letters and greetings).
The Wall Street Journal reported that the birthday book included the names of 20 individuals, such as President Trump and former President Bill Clinton, under the category of "friends."
The White House stated, "President Trump did not sign or draw on any notes related to the Epstein allegations."
