Gyeonggi Province to Improve Housing Conditions for Child Housing Poverty Households by November

Gyeonggi Province will work to improve the residential environment for low-income households with children through November.

On September 9, Gyeonggi Province announced its plan to complete the "Clean Service and Goods Support Project for Child Housing Poverty Households" by November. The project aims to improve the living conditions of low-income households with children who reside in substandard housing, such as homes below the minimum residential area or semi-basement units.

This initiative provides two types of support within the budget: "clean services," including disinfection and pest control, wallpaper and flooring replacement, cleaning, and storage organization; and "goods," such as air conditioners, air purifiers, washing machines, and dryers.

This year, 280 households are eligible for support. Selected households can choose two types of home appliances worth approximately 2 million won and two types of clean services, including mandatory disinfection and pest control, worth approximately 1 million won.

By the end of last month, Gyeonggi Province had already supported 77 households with wallpaper and flooring replacement, 99 households with cleaning services, 73 households with storage organization, and 242 households with pest removal and disinfection and pest control services.

Kim Tae-su, Director of Housing Policy at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Supporting households with children living in poor housing conditions is not just about convenience; it is a crucial policy that directly impacts children's health, development, and overall quality of life. Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Housing Welfare Center will continue to work together to provide stable support in the future."
