Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Younghyeon) announced that starting in September, it will sequentially launch the 'Hantangang Tour Pass and Shuttle Bus' program to enhance convenience for visitors to the Hantangang UNESCO Global Geopark and to revitalize local tourism.
The Hantangang Tour Pass is a program designed to allow tourists to enjoy major attractions at a reasonable price. It consists of a one-day pass, which provides unlimited access to tourist sites for a day, and an accommodation pass, which offers two days of admission to attractions along with discounted rates at partner lodging facilities.
The tour pass will be available until November and can be purchased on Naver Smart Store. It can be picked up in person at the Hantangang Global Geopark Center (Pocheon), Jeongok-ri Prehistoric Site Visitor Center (Yeoncheon), or Goseokjeong Information Center (Cheorwon), or delivered by paid courier service. The pass includes free admission to attractions as well as discounts at partner businesses, allowing visitors to experience a variety of local services and amenities at a reasonable price.
The Hantangang Tour Shuttle operates on a circular route starting from Jeongok Station, connecting Yeoncheon Jaein Falls, Pocheon Bidulginang Falls, the Ecological Landscape Complex, and Cheorwon Goseokjeong. It runs on weekends and public holidays through October, and tourists can purchase tickets on site and freely board and disembark at designated times.
Pocheon City aims to make it easier and more convenient for tourists to explore the main attractions of the Global Geopark by operating the tour pass and shuttle bus. The city also plans to strengthen connections with local businesses and partner companies, increasing visitor satisfaction while also boosting the local economy.
A Pocheon City official stated, "We expect the operation of the Hantangang Tour Pass and Shuttle Bus to greatly enhance convenience for tourists," adding, "We will continue to promote the appeal of the Global Geopark in various ways and make ongoing efforts to revitalize local tourism."
