Awarded at Startup Competition with IT Solution 'Q-CARE'
Bridging Language Barriers for Foreign Patients with Innovative Technology

Soonchunhyang University announced on September 8 that it received the 'Korea Youth Entrepreneurship Foundation Award' at the 3rd Local Land Trek Startup Competition, which was held on September 5 at Korea Polytechnic University in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province.

This competition was supported by the Ministry of Education, the National Research Foundation of Korea, and the Korea Youth Entrepreneurship Foundation, with 11 teams from 10 universities nationwide participating.

The team of students consisting of Ahn Seunghoon, Lee Sanghoon, and Lee Junseo from the Department of Medical IT Engineering, and Do Ungbin from the Department of Computer Software Engineering at Soonchunhyang University, attracted attention by developing 'Q-CARE,' an IT-based medical linkage solution designed to address the language barrier issues faced by foreign patients.

Professor Ka Hye-young of the Software-Centered University Project Group stated, "The students directly explored local community issues and proposed practical solutions by applying their IT expertise."

Project Group Director Jeon Changwan said, "We will support the university to go beyond simply delivering knowledge and play a role in improving the lives of the local community and the public."
