Korea Tourism Organization Recruiting Participants for Eco-Friendly Camping at Bukhansan Sagimak Campground

The Korea Tourism Organization is recruiting campers to participate in the eco-friendly camping event "2025 Go Camping School," which will be held at the Sagimak Campground in Bukhansan, until September 24.

Go Camping School, now in its fourth year, is an event designed to promote proper camping culture among beginners under the slogan "Clean GO!, Safe GO!, Delicious GO!, Fun GO!" The event will be held twice, on October 17-18 and October 24-25, with a total of 40 teams selected through an online lottery-20 teams per session.

This camping school will offer a variety of programs, including safety camping and tent setup training, the "Camping Endurance Eco-Tiering" mission where participants solve challenges throughout the campground, an event to find eco-friendly camping heroes, and stargazing sessions.

More details can be found on the official Go Camping Instagram account, where participants can also apply to join.

Sagimak Campground in Bukhansan was selected as an eco-friendly, carbon-neutral campground in the public excellence category in 2024. Only zero-emission vehicles such as electric and hydrogen cars are allowed to enter, while users of conventional internal combustion vehicles must park outside and use a free electric shuttle bus.

Cha Hyukjin, head of the Leisure Tourism Team at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "We hope this event will provide a great opportunity to enjoy camping in pristine natural surroundings and to reflect on the meaning of low-carbon travel through various hands-on programs."

To celebrate the camping season this fall, the Korea Tourism Organization is hosting a variety of camping events. The Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam branch will launch the "Good Camping" campaign in collaboration with seven campgrounds in Geochang from September 15 to 21. During the event, campers visiting Geochang County can receive up to 20,000 won in "Geochang Love Gift Certificates" as a reimbursement for money spent at local traditional markets, restaurants, and tourist attractions. On September 19 and 20, various hands-on programs will be offered in partnership with tourism startups from the Gyeongnam Tourism Enterprise Support Center, providing visitors with unique experiences.
