Group Blood Donation Held in Front of County Office
to Overcome Blood Supply Shortage
On September 5, Uiseong County in North Gyeongsang Province held a group blood donation event in front of the county office, with both public officials and local residents participating. The event was organized in cooperation with the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross and aimed to help address the ongoing blood supply shortage and promote a culture of blood donation.
Public Officials and Residents of Uiseong County, Gyeongbuk, United in Life-Saving Blood Donation Effort
Not only public officials from the county office but also employees from related organizations and local residents voluntarily took part in the event. Blood donors were recognized with four hours of volunteer service, and received blood testing services (including blood type, hepatitis, and total protein tests), a certificate of donation, and commemorative gifts.
Blood is the only means of saving the lives of patients in need of transfusions; it cannot be artificially replaced or stored for long periods. Therefore, regular and voluntary participation in blood donation is more important than ever.
Uiseong County plans to continue working with the Korean Red Cross to hold group blood donation events involving public institutions and local residents.
Kim Jusu, Governor of Uiseong County, expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in the blood donation, emphasizing, "We will continue to promote blood donation campaigns and group donation events to further spread a culture of sharing throughout the local community."
