Miryang City to Host "Donggari Uiyeol Street Sentimental Festival"

A Festival to Revitalize Donggari Uiyeol Street
Experience Miryang's History, Tastes, and Autumn Memories

Miryang City in South Gyeongsang Province announced on September 8 that it will host the "2025 Donggari Uiyeol Street Sentimental Festival" every Friday from September 12 to September 26 in the Donggari Uiyeol Street area.

This event is organized by the Miryang Sunshine Commercial District Revitalization Task Force and the Donggari Merchants Association, and will be held every Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. under the theme "Time of Righteousness, Walking in Miryang." The festival aims to revitalize the stagnant old downtown, promote Donggari Uiyeol Street, and help restore the local commercial district.

During the first and second weeks (September 12 and 19), a "Uiyeoldan Cosplay Contest" and an SNS certification challenge will take place. On the final, third week (September 26), a variety of programs are scheduled, including an opening performance, a quiz event, a citizen singing contest, a cosplay runway, and performances by bands and singers, beautifully marking the arrival of autumn.

In addition, visitors can enjoy a sentimental food stall offering the tastes of Miryang, a flea market showcasing the region's style and fun, righteous tattoos, hanbok experiences, and street performances, providing a wide range of programs for a unique experience.

An official from Miryang City stated, "We hope many citizens will participate in this festival, where you can learn about the history and passion of Donggari Uiyeol Street and reminisce about the old memories of Donggari Sinjak-ro," adding, "We will continue to pursue various initiatives to revitalize the old downtown commercial district and boost the local economy."

Meanwhile, Donggari Uiyeol Street has previously received an enthusiastic response from citizens and visitors by operating diverse programs such as food stalls combining the 2023 Donggari Uiyeol Street theme with the old atmosphere of Donggari Sinjak-ro, independence-related events, experiential programs, and busking performances.
