The task force was launched in response to the growing importance of data-driven decision-making and information provision, as well as the opening and management of AI-friendly, high-value data amid a rapidly changing economic environment. Through joint cooperation among institutions, it aims to become a leading data administration body and to build an innovative data ecosystem.

The group plans to promote the discovery of AI-friendly, high-value data and the release of quality data through communication initiatives such as a national data competition, educational programs and events to raise data awareness, and public opinion hearings. Additionally, they will collaborate in various areas, including improving public service convenience through data visualization and AI service offerings, and seeking ways to advance data development through practitioner exchanges.

As of last month, the task force had released a total of 853 datasets on the Public Data Portal, including 813 file datasets and 40 open APIs. Moving forward, they plan to collaborate with the National Information Society Agency (NIA) to further promote the creation of a data-driven innovation ecosystem.

The ten participating organizations stated, "We will strive to contribute to the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises and the development of Korea's data economy, including the establishment of an innovative data ecosystem, through continuous and organic cooperation."
