Catholic Diocese of Masan Joins Efforts to Overcome Low Birthrate Through 'Respect for Life' Practice.
The Diocese of Masan has selected "Life is a gift from God; the future opens when we respect life" as its core initiative, and is working to promote respect for life and foster a family-friendly social culture.
This initiative is based on the faith-based value that all life is a blessing from God. It aims to remind people of the preciousness of birth and family, and to spread a message of reverence and responsibility for life throughout the local community.
The Catholic Diocese of Masan plans to expand community culture around the message of respect for life by: ▲ expanding programs for the practice and education of respect for life ▲ building consensus through prayer and sharing ▲ and establishing a local culture where children and families are respected.
Bishop Lee Seonghyo (Rino) of the Diocese of Masan stated, "The low birthrate issue is not simply a matter of numbers, but a social challenge that requires us to respect and protect life." He emphasized, "The fundamental solution is to create a stable environment and a sense of hope that encourages people to want to have children."
Kim Manki, Director of Population Policy, said, "The role of religious communities in practicing respect for life and social responsibility is extremely significant," and urged, "All members of the local community must join forces to create a society where it is good to have and raise children."
