Hamyang County Holds Safety Management Committee Meeting to Ensure Accident-Free Events

Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on September 8 that it held a meeting of the "Hamyang County Safety Management Committee" in the county office's disaster situation room on September 5 to ensure the safe hosting of the 22nd Hamyang Yeonam Cultural Festival and the 20th Hamyang Wild Ginseng Festival, both of which are the region's representative festivals.

This Safety Management Committee is chaired by the County Governor and consists of a total of 14 members, including representatives from the police station, fire station, military unit, and the Office of Education. The committee is responsible for deliberating and coordinating disaster and safety management policies.

The meeting, presided over by County Governor Jin Byungyoung, focused on discussing measures to prevent various safety accidents that may occur during the festival period and to ensure the highest level of safety for event participants and visitors.

In particular, the committee closely reviewed overall safety management issues for the festivals, including: establishing a cooperative system among relevant agencies; planning the deployment of safety personnel; response measures in case of adverse weather conditions; and safety management plans for each program.

Before the opening of the festivals, the county plans to conduct joint inspections with relevant agencies and experts in related fields to check the on-site safety management status. The county will also strengthen guidance and promotional activities to prevent accidents and minimize casualties.

County Governor Jin Byungyoung stated, "As the Hamyang Yeonam Cultural Festival and the Hamyang Wild Ginseng Festival are representative festivals of Hamyang, we expect more tourists to visit our county than ever before. We will make every effort to ensure safety management so that both residents and tourists can enjoy the festivals in a safe environment through close cooperation with relevant organizations."

Meanwhile, the 22nd Hamyang Yeonam Cultural Festival will be held for two days from September 13 to 14 at the Anui Sports Park area, and the 20th Hamyang Wild Ginseng Festival will take place for five days from September 18 to 22 at the Millennium Forest Sangnim Park area.
