Visit to Namhang Market in Yeongdo, Busan
On-site Meeting and "Jangbon Day" Campaign Held
On September 8, Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC) announced that it would visit Namhang Market in Yeongdo-gu, Busan to conduct a traditional market consumption promotion campaign and an on-site meeting, aiming to revitalize the local economy and support the recovery of livelihoods.
This event was organized so that public institutions could visit local traditional markets, participate in consumption activities to help boost spending, and listen to a variety of opinions from the field. Before the on-site meeting, Chairman Kim Jongho and KOTEC employees plan to have lunch together at a restaurant inside Namhang Market to experience the market atmosphere firsthand and communicate with local merchants. At the subsequent meeting, KOTEC executives and staff will listen to updates on the market's operations and challenges, and discuss practical measures to stimulate consumption.
After the meeting, KOTEC will hold its traditional market shopping campaign, "Jangbon Day." Employees will use "Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons" to directly purchase goods and interact with merchants, injecting vitality into Namhang Market. Notably, this campaign is especially meaningful as it supports the recovery of small businesses in Yeongdo-gu, which has been designated as a depopulation area.
Additionally, on this day, KOTEC will donate essential goods and food worth 3 million won, prepared through the KOTEC Love Fund, to the Gamman General Welfare Center in Nam-gu, Busan. The Gamman General Welfare Center, a social welfare facility that KOTEC has consistently supported through activities such as free meal services, will receive this donation to provide practical assistance to vulnerable groups in the region and to promote the value of sharing.
Chairman Kim stated, "The role of traditional markets becomes even more important in regions suffering from population decline and aging," adding, "KOTEC will continue to fulfill its commitment to coexistence with the local community by strengthening community-based social contribution activities and support for livelihood recovery as a public institution rooted in the region."
