Russia Directly Strikes Ukrainian Government Building for First Time Since Invasion

Fire Breaks Out

The government building in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, came under attack by Russia on the 7th (local time).

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced via her Telegram channel that the government building was hit by a Russian attack, resulting in a fire.

This is the first time the government building has been directly struck since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

Prime Minister Svyrydenko stated that fire authorities have begun efforts to extinguish the blaze.

AFP reported that firefighting helicopters also appear to have been deployed.
