Mayor Shin Sangjin of Seongnam City attended the awards ceremony for the "2025 Low Birthrate Overcoming Content Contest" held at Nuri Hall in Seongnam City Hall on September 6, and encouraged the winners.

This contest was held over a four-month period from April to July, aiming to raise social awareness about the low birthrate issue and foster a citywide consensus through citizens' creative ideas.

In his congratulatory remarks, Mayor Shin expressed, "I sincerely thank and congratulate everyone who participated in the contest and all the winners," emphasizing, "As the low birthrate issue has long-term effects across society, proactive measures are essential."

He added, "While nationwide policies are important to address the low birthrate issue, Seongnam City is taking the lead in implementing efforts that can be pursued at the municipal level."

Mayor Shin introduced Seongnam City's representative policies for addressing the low birthrate, including "Solomon's Choice," which creates opportunities for young men and women to meet and encourages marriage and childbirth; educational programs to improve awareness of the low birthrate issue in elementary, middle, and high schools; and the establishment of the "Haenim Dalnim Playground" to address childcare gaps in dual-income households. He stated, "We will continue our efforts to improve perceptions of marriage and to make Seongnam a city where it is easy to have and raise children."

The awards ceremony began with a performance by the Seongnam City Symphony Orchestra, followed by the presentation of awards to 36 individuals in four categories, commemorative photos, congratulatory speeches, and an exhibition tour.
