Minister Hwiyeong Choi stated, "Thanks to the members of the National Academy of Arts, who represent our country and have built the foundation of Korean culture and arts, K-Art has captured the hearts of people worldwide, as seen in Han Kang's Nobel Prize in Literature and Park Chunhyu's original musical 'Maybe Happy Ending' winning a Tony Award. The government will also actively support culture and the arts, ushering in the era of 300 trillion won for 'K-Culture' and establishing Korea as a cultural powerhouse where culture flourishes."

Minister Choi especially emphasized, "We will focus our investments on basic arts such as literature, music, and fine arts, which are the foundation of K-Culture. We will create a free creative environment and a welfare safety net so that artists can devote themselves to their creative work with peace of mind. In addition, we will strategically support the overseas expansion of key K-Art sectors and provide policy support so that outstanding domestic performances and exhibitions can be enjoyed in local regions as well."

President Shin Sujeong congratulated the Minister on his appointment and said, "For Korean culture and arts, which are receiving global attention, to further develop, bold and expanded support at the government level is necessary. Going forward, members of the Academy will also actively propose policies to promote the arts."

In response, Minister Hwiyeong Choi said, "I hope that all members will continue to contribute to the advancement of Korean culture and arts with affection and interest, and that your ongoing artistic activities will offer hope and inspiration to the people of Korea."
