H Energy CEO Ham Ilhan announced on the 5th that he has been awarded the Dongtap Industrial Medal at the "2025 SME Technology and Management Innovation Expo" hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
The "2025 SME Technology and Management Innovation Expo," now in its 26th year, was held in conjunction with the 2025 APEC SME Week. At the opening ceremony on the 4th, individuals who contributed to national economic development through technological and management innovation were honored under the theme of innovation.
CEO Ham Ilhan was recognized for his achievements in business model innovation, digital management innovation, and ESG management innovation in the field of innovation, earning the prestigious Dongtap Industrial Medal. In particular, he was highly praised for transforming the previously closed energy market into a platform market accessible to everyone. The Dongtap Industrial Medal awarded to CEO Ham was recorded in the register of industrial medals.
H Energy is transforming the renewable energy market with its innovative technology. The company has promoted local energy circulation and independence through a rooftop solar-based cooperative project without indiscriminate development. Expanding this nationwide, its energy investment platform "MoHat" reached 190,000 cumulative subscribers and a cumulative investment amount of 360 billion won within five years of its launch, achieving rapid growth.
MoHat operates by renting roof and rooftop resources across the country to build solar power plants owned by cooperatives, distributing the power generation profits to cooperative members. The significance lies in the fact that by having cooperatives directly own the power plant assets, individuals are transformed from mere investors into key players in energy production and ownership.
The core technology, "SolarOnCare," is a power plant operation and management system that is rapidly growing as it is offered as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) to third-party power plants. The number of sites surged from 37 at the end of June last year to 4,640 by September of the same year. Departing from the traditional complex construction methods, the company has standardized the installation of power plants in a "set installation" format and integrated process and quality management on the platform. Power plant operators can receive everything from operations management to power generation guarantees with just an annual subscription fee.
By automating everything from customized management and anomaly diagnosis to corrective action through big data and sensor network-based clustering technology, the company has completely eliminated the complexity of managing small-scale power plants. As a result, it has optimized power generation performance and maximized power generation profits, earning recognition for ushering in the era of SaaS subscription services for solar power plants. In addition, the company operates the rooftop solar leasing platform "SolarShare" and the "Discount Electricity Rate Plan," which received regulatory sandbox demonstration exemptions.
CEO Ham Ilhan stated, "Through a platform economy that encompasses everything from renewable energy investment to production, consumption, and trading, we aim to create an energy-sharing economy that connects our homes, cars, and companies in daily life," adding, "Changing the ownership and distribution structure of renewable energy capital, the oil of the future, is H Energy's mission," as he shared his thoughts on receiving the award.
