Jangheung County in South Jeolla Province announced on the 5th that it held a policy briefing session at the County Residents' Hall on the 4th to promote the revitalization of local commercial districts.
More than 50 people attended the briefing, including Kim Sung, the Governor of Jangheung County, Moon Yugun, Head of the Mokpo Center at the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, the Jangheung County Federation of Small Business Owners, and local merchant organizations.
The county first explained the intent and main contents of enacting the ordinance for designating alley-type shopping districts. This was followed by the Small Enterprise and Market Service introducing support systems for small businesses and local commercial districts, sharing revitalization case studies, and conducting a Q&A session, thereby presenting practical ways to support small business owners.
Once designated as an alley-type shopping district, businesses become eligible to apply for various government-funded support programs, including joining the Onnuri Gift Certificate affiliate network, facility improvements, business modernization, and joint marketing. The county expects these efforts to improve residents' quality of life and stimulate the local economy.
