Mayor Jung Myunggeun Seeks National Funding for Key Hwaseong Projects
Emphasizes the Need for Support to Secure Future Growth and Improve Quality of Life
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 5 that Mayor Jung Myunggeun met with Han Byungdo, chairman of the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Committee, at the National Assembly on the 4th to request support for securing national funding for the city's major pending projects.

On this day, Mayor Jung submitted a proposal to Chairman Han, requesting the inclusion of the following projects in next year's national budget: the Dongtan-Indeogwon double-track railway, the Shinansan double-track railway, the direct connection project for the Incheon KTX, the Samsung-Dongtan section of the GTX-A line, the construction of local road No. 82 between Galcheon-Gasu and Ujeong-Hyangnam, the comprehensive disaster prevention and maintenance project for the Hwanggye district, the Hwaseong Intangible Heritage Transmission Education Center, and the maintenance of the coastal deck on Gukhwado Island.
During the meeting, Mayor Jung emphasized the importance of securing development funding for the city's future growth, including the establishment of a new general district, as Hwaseong continues to grow steadily.
Mayor Jung stated, "National-level support is essential for Hwaseong City to lay the foundation befitting a special city and to secure future growth engines. We will focus all our efforts on securing national funding to improve transportation convenience, safety, and quality of life for our citizens."
