The commemorative ceremony began with pre-event performances by the Yangsan City Youth Choir and Youth Dance Team, followed by the presentation of commendations to 13 citizens who contributed to the spread of gender equality culture and the promotion of women's rights.

Additionally, under the leadership of the Yangsan City Women's Association Council (President Jeon Jeongae), 12 affiliated women's organizations (with a total of 5,911 members) participated in a gender equality-themed dance performance titled "Warm Companionship, A City of Gender Equality and Happiness for All," newly promoting Gender Equality Week and receiving an enthusiastic response from citizens.

Other highlights included a second part featuring the gender equality musical "I can do it, We can do it!" by the theater group Ieum, which resonated with the audience. Side events offered a variety of experiences such as traditional tea tasting and tea ceremony, a campaign to prevent the four major types of violence, the 13th Women's Film Festival, and a gender equality photo zone.

Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "For men and women to enjoy equal rights and benefits and to foster a society based on mutual respect, it is essential to spread gender equality awareness and culture in everyday life. I hope today's Gender Equality Week commemorative event serves as a cultural platform to widely promote gender equality awareness."

To promote gender equality nationwide, one week each year (September 1-7) is designated as Gender Equality Week by Presidential Decree.
