Taebaek City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Lee Sangho) announced on September 5 that it will host the '2025 Taebaek Autumn Video Contest' from September 1 to November 21. The contest is divided into two categories: General and Youth, with a total of eight winning entries to be selected.
The theme of the contest is 'Autumn in Taebaek.' Video submissions should capture the autumn scenery of Taebaek, its tourist attractions, and stories of its people. Participants for the General category must have been born before 2006, while the Youth category is open to those born between 2007 and 2012.
For each category, awards will be given as follows: one Grand Prize, one Excellence Award, and two Merit Awards, totaling eight winners. The Grand Prize for the General category comes with a cash award of 5 million won, while the Youth category Grand Prize offers 1 million won. Additional prizes and certificates will also be presented for the Excellence and Merit Awards.
Entries must be in MP4 format, no longer than five minutes, and at least 1920×1080 resolution. Submissions should be sent via email (tbvideocon2025@naver.com) along with the required application documents. Each individual or team may submit multiple entries, but only the highest-rated entry per participant or team can receive an award.
Taebaek City will comprehensively evaluate the submitted works based on planning, filming and editing quality, and relevance to the theme, with final results to be announced in early December. The winning entries will later be used as official promotional content for Taebaek City.
A Taebaek City official stated, "This contest will be an opportunity to record and promote Taebaek's autumn from various perspectives," adding, "We hope it will serve as a chance to discover new charms of Taebaek through the unique viewpoints of both youth and adults."
