Showers Expected in Chungcheong and Southern Regions
Late-Summer Heat Continues Across Most of the Country
On Friday, September 5, most regions across the country will continue to experience lingering late-summer heat.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, daytime high temperatures are forecast to range from 28 to 33 degrees Celsius. As of 5 a.m., the temperatures in major cities were as follows: Seoul 23.8 degrees, Incheon 24.6 degrees, Suwon 23.1 degrees, Chuncheon 20.0 degrees, Gangneung 22.5 degrees, Cheongju 24.0 degrees, Daejeon 23.4 degrees, Jeonju 24.5 degrees, Gwangju 23.3 degrees, Jeju 27.0 degrees, Daegu 24.4 degrees, Busan 26.3 degrees, Ulsan 24.2 degrees, and Changwon 26.1 degrees.
In the Chungcheong region, Jeolla region, western inland areas of Gyeongsang, and Jeju Island, showers are expected from the afternoon through the night. The expected precipitation is 5 to 60 millimeters in the Jeolla region, and 5 to 40 millimeters in the Chungcheong region, southwestern inland of North Gyeongsang, western inland of South Gyeongsang, and Jeju Island.
Fine dust concentrations will remain at a 'good' level nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion.
Waves in the seas are expected to reach 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the coastal waters of the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5 meters in the coastal waters of the West Sea. In the offshore areas (up to about 200 kilometers from the coastline), wave heights will be 1.0 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea.
