Samcheok City received high scores across all 17 evaluation items in 8 categories (14 on-site evaluations and 3 post-evaluations) during the Eulji Exercise, which was conducted day and night from August 18 to 21.
In preparation for a successful exercise, the city carried out thorough advance preparations and conducted both practical and tabletop drills, including a counter-terrorism exercise at the Samcheok Marine Research Center of the Agency for Defense Development, wartime grain distribution training, and community-based resident participation drills. In addition, the city held a daily morning situation briefing throughout the exercise period, where agency heads and key officials discussed assignments and wartime issues in depth, working to identify problems and develop improvement measures.
A Samcheok City official stated, "This achievement is the result of active participation and support from all agencies," adding, "We will continue to do our best to establish a perfect emergency preparedness posture."
