Goseong County in Gangwon Province (Governor Ham Myungjun) has completed the construction of 'Rural Road No. 201,' the access road to the National Forest Recreation Area being developed in Jangsin-ri, Ganseong-eup.
This project was carried out as part of the infrastructure development linked to the National Forest Recreation Area initiative led by the Korea Forest Service, with a total project cost of 3.4 billion won (2.3 billion won from the fund and 1.1 billion won from the county budget).
The newly constructed road is 1.4 kilometers long and 7.0 meters wide. Key facilities include one newly built bridge (17 meters long and 7 meters wide), as well as five expanded culverts and rigid-frame structures.
This road will serve as a vital access route for regional tourism, starting from Jangsin 2 Bridge in Sotongnyeong Village and connecting the Jangsin-ri recreation area, the children's forest experience center, and the site of the new forest recreation area.
Ham Myungjun, Governor of Goseong County, expressed his gratitude to the residents for their active cooperation despite the inconvenience during the construction period, stating, "I deeply appreciate the residents' support. The opening of this access road is expected to greatly contribute not only to expanding tourism infrastructure, but also to revitalizing the local economy and improving residents' quality of life."
Goseong County anticipates that the completion of this road will bring various benefits, including attracting tourists in connection with the upcoming National Forest Recreation Area, establishing new local attractions, and improving residential conditions for local residents.
