Hole-in-One from 205 Yards with a 4-Iron
One Eagle and Six Birdies Without a Bogey, Tied for Second Place
Last year's Rookie of the Year, Song Minhyeok, recorded his first career hole-in-one.
On September 4, at the Kyle Phillips Course (par 72, 7,407 yards) of Golfzon County Yeongam 45 in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, he shot an impressive 8-under-par 64 during the first round of the KPGA Tour KPGA Founders Cup, which has a total prize fund of 700 million won. He finished the first round tied for second place, one stroke behind Jung Taeyang, who shot a 9-under-par 63.

He carded one eagle and six birdies without a single bogey. The highlight was his hole-in-one on the par-3 2nd hole. Using a 4-iron from 205 yards out, his shot went straight into the hole.
In a post-round interview, Song Minhyeok explained, "It wasn't a particularly good shot. I didn't hit it as well as usual, but it had a big fade and, fortunately, I could see it going in the right direction." He added, "As the second half of the season begins, my shot-making feels much improved. I want to stay patient in the remaining rounds and focus only on my own play."
