In response to a raid by the special prosecution team investigating the martial law-related rebellion allegations, the People Power Party held a rally condemning the investigation in front of the main National Assembly building on September 3. On this day, the People Power Party filed a complaint against Special Prosecutor Cho Eunseok and the special prosecution team for alleged abuse of authority, stating, "We have decided to engage in the most powerful form of struggle," and also hinted at the possibility of a large-scale protest outside the National Assembly.

On the morning of September 3, the People Power Party held a "Rally Condemning the Special Prosecution Investigation into Political Suppression Aimed at Destroying the Opposition Party" on the central stairs in front of the main National Assembly building. The party condemned the special prosecution team's attempts to raid the People Power Party's floor leader's office and the party's administration office for two consecutive days. Despite the rainy weather, party leadership, lawmakers, party officials, and members from across the country attended. Party members, holding umbrellas or wearing raincoats, carried placards reading, "Immediately Stop the Raids Aimed at Destroying the Opposition Party."

Party leader Jang Donghyuk declared in his speech, "Today, September 4, 2025, will be the day we break the garbage-like frame of the rebellion party. It will be the first day of bringing down the lawless Lee Jaemyung administration. The investigation by the political special prosecutor, built on sand, will ultimately become the blade that beheads the Lee Jaemyung administration." Jang added, "We have anger, patriotism, and our lives left. Let's risk our lives and advance to bring down the Lee Jaemyung administration."

Song Eonseok, floor leader of the People Power Party, said, "At this very moment, the special prosecution has entered the main National Assembly building with a search and seizure warrant. Yesterday and the day before, they entered to raid our party's floor leader's office and administrative office for two consecutive days. This is completely illegal." He further emphasized, "The lawless ruling party has ignored the prosecution through the special prosecutor, and is now trying to completely destroy the judiciary through the special tribunal."

Assemblywoman Na Kyungwon also took the microphone, saying, "If former floor leader Chu Kyungho is indicted, our party will be dissolved as an unconstitutional party. That is why they are trying to execute these ruthless warrants. Last time, they stormed our party's headquarters, the heart of our party, and demanded the list of 5 million party members. Now, for the first time in National Assembly history, they are attempting to raid the main opposition party's floor leader's office. Shouldn't we stop them?"

Earlier, at the Supreme Council meeting, Jang Donghyuk stated, "From now on, the People Power Party will fight harder, broader, and together with our 5 million party members," adding, "Soon, the special prosecution will aim at the heart of the Lee Jaemyung administration."

Regarding this, Choi Boyoon, chief spokesperson of the People Power Party, told reporters, "There was consensus among the leadership that we must engage in the most powerful form of struggle," adding, "We are considering methods other than simply making statements at the Supreme Council meeting." He also mentioned the possibility of protests outside the National Assembly.

The People Power Party also completed the process of filing a complaint against Special Prosecutor Cho Eunseok's team. A party official told reporters, "Around 9 a.m., a party official filed the complaint on behalf of the party. The accused is Special Prosecutor Cho Eunseok, one unnamed prosecutor, and seven investigators. The complaint is for abuse of authority."

This official explained, "It was filed with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in the name of the party. The main allegation is that, during the process of seizing a party official's mobile phone, they refused a request for a lawyer to be present and proceeded with the seizure in an unreasonable manner."

The People Power Party also strongly criticized National Assembly Speaker Woo Wonshik, claiming he effectively allowed the special prosecution's attempt to raid offices in the main National Assembly building. At the Supreme Council meeting, floor leader Song Eonseok said, "What is even more serious is the behavior of Speaker Woo and the National Assembly Secretariat. Speaker Woo verbally stated that voluntary submission would be preferable, but there is reasonable suspicion that he pre-approved the raid before leaving for China."

Song Eonseok stressed, "If the allegation that Speaker Woo pre-approved the raid is true, it means he deceived the people and betrayed the opposition party. If not, then the Secretary-General of the National Assembly has overstepped his authority. If it is an overreach, that is also a criminal act. The full truth must be revealed to the public, and our party will pursue legal responsibility to the end."

He continued, "Yesterday, during the general assembly of lawmakers, a staff member of the National Assembly Secretariat came and filmed the scene without authorization. It must be clearly revealed who gave such instructions." He added, "Filming videos without prior approval targeting a specific party is clearly political surveillance. If the special prosecutor and the Secretariat colluded, it is a serious matter. We will hold all those responsible legally accountable."

Choi Eunseok, chief deputy spokesperson for the party, commented, "Speaker Woo must reveal the truth to the public and apologize for enabling the special prosecution to engage in political oppression. If he continues to focus solely on supporting the Lee Jaemyung administration and North Korea without reflection or self-awareness, he should remember that he will inevitably have to step down as Speaker of the National Assembly."
