Run in Busan to Be Held September 5-14
Top Running Brands Including Hoka, Nike, and Salomon Join the Event
Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch will host the 'Run in Busan' event for runners from September 5 to 14, spanning 10 days.
With the number of running enthusiasts surpassing 10 million, running has now become a mainstream sport.
Recently, the "running core look," where people wear running outfits not only for exercise but also in daily life, has emerged as a new fashion trend, leading to a noticeable increase in sales of related products.
According to Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch, sales of running-related sports products over the past three months have increased by more than 20% compared to last year, and some running shoe specialty brands have recorded a double-digit growth rate of about 30 to 40%.
In response, Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch plans to captivate runners ahead of the full-fledged autumn running season through various promotions and customer participation events at the 'Run in Busan' event.
A variety of leading running brands will participate in the event, drawing attention. Running specialty brands such as Hoka, On Running, Nike, Salomon, and Garmin will showcase a wide range of products, including running shoes, apparel, accessories, and smart devices.
Each store will offer personalized product recommendations tailored to customers' running styles, from beginners to advanced runners. Featured products include the Hoka Mach X3 (running shoes), Nike Vomero 18 (running shoes), and Salomon short-sleeve T-shirts and boxer shorts.
In addition, customers can also find professional accessories and smart devices that enhance the running experience, such as the Garmin Forerunner 570 (smartwatch) and Oakley EVZero Path (sunglasses).
There will also be special events available exclusively during this event. On the first day, September 5, the New Balance store will offer the brand's iconic '993' series exclusively in Busan. The series will be available in three colors-gray, blue, and black-in limited quantities, adding to its exclusivity.
Furthermore, from September 12 to 18, the event hall on the first basement floor will sell Puma B-Grade products at discounts of up to 60 to 80%. B-Grade products may have minor scratches or slight exterior damage, but there are no issues with wear or functionality. These products are popular among customers who prefer reasonable prices, with representative items including running shoes, sandals, and down jackets, significantly lowering the price burden.
During the event, customer participation programs with experts will also be held at the sports section on the 5th floor. From September 5 to 7, Lee Yonghwan, CEO of Bridge Conditioning, a running training center, will provide one-on-one consultations to recommend the right running shoes for each customer.
Then, from September 12 to 14, the nation's largest running club, Vegaberry, will run a coaching program focused on injury prevention and recovery. Both programs are available for on-site registration.
Attractive purchase promotions have also been prepared. During the 10-day event, the first 2,000 customers using the Lotte Department Store app will receive a 7.5% discount coupon for use at sports brands. Additionally, during the first weekend of the event, from September 5 to 7, customers who purchase 200,000 won or 400,000 won or more at sports brands will receive a 15,000 won or 30,000 won Lotte Mobile Gift Certificate, respectively, as part of a 7.5% gift certificate promotion.
