Yeongju City, North Gyeongsang Province, announced on September 4 that the 16th Citizen Health Experience Yard, held at Baegogae Dunchi from September 2 to 4, concluded with the participation of about 10,000 citizens.
This year's event featured 37 organizations, including healthcare associations, hospitals, and universities. The venue was bustling with citizens as a variety of programs were offered, such as thyroid ultrasound, traditional Korean medicine consultations, oral examinations, medication misuse counseling, vision tests, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation experiences.
Local hospitals, universities, and the Community Social Security Council also participated, providing health checkups and lifestyle counseling. The event included performances by children from daycare centers, as well as well-being dance and line dance shows by local residents. Emergency care experience in collaboration with Dongguk University Hospital, trumpet performances, and health exercise demonstrations also attracted attention.
On the evening of September 3, a "Night Seocheon Walking Event" was held, where citizens of all ages, including families, friends, and seniors, walked along the Seocheon at night, enjoying both health and relaxation. Participants commented, "We took care of our health and made lasting memories."
Kim Moonsoo, Director of the Public Health Center, said, "We were able to raise citizens' health awareness through various experiences and information," and added, "We will continue to pursue health promotion projects."
