Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 4 that the Yongin Regional Self-Sufficiency Center has been selected as an "Excellent Institution" in this year's Regional Self-Sufficiency Center Performance Evaluation, which is overseen by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
This evaluation was conducted for 228 regional self-sufficiency centers nationwide, comprehensively reviewing the performance of self-sufficiency work projects, the achievement of self-reliance outcomes, the level of cooperation with local governments, service quality, and administrative capabilities, as well as the overall efficiency of center operations.
The city explained that the center achieved results above the national average in areas such as customized self-reliance support for participants, strengthening public-private partnership networks, and supporting the discovery and establishment of self-sufficiency enterprises.
The city added that the center received high marks for increasing employment and entrepreneurship rates, as well as the rate of participants moving off benefits, through self-reliance support for participants, and for strengthening capabilities to establish a stable revenue base for self-sufficiency workgroups and enterprises.
In this evaluation, the "Youth With Pet" project team, "The Geonganghage," which the center promoted in collaboration with local universities to create jobs for low-income youth, was also selected for an encouragement award in the regional specialized project category.
A city official stated, "With this selection as an excellent institution, we will further strengthen our efforts to enhance the self-reliance capabilities of self-sufficiency work participants and to create sustainable jobs."
