Showcasing New Varieties of Strawberries, Pears, and Shine Muscat Grapes
Export Agreements Reached with International Buyers
Chungnam Province captivated the eyes and palates of international buyers at Asia's largest fresh produce expo with its smart farm-bred new varieties of strawberries, pears, and Shine Muscat grapes. On-site, export agreements were signed, demonstrating the global competitiveness of Chungnam’s agricultural products.
On September 4, the provincial government announced that it participated in the "2025 Hong Kong Fresh Produce Expo (Asia Fruit Logistica)" held in Hong Kong, where it promoted new local agricultural varieties and held export consultations with overseas buyers.
This event, the only fresh produce expo in Asia, runs from September 3 to 5 and has attracted a large number of global buyers and producers from Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the United States, and more.
Chungnam Province drew particular attention as the only domestic participant to exhibit summer strawberries cultivated in smart farms.
In addition, new strawberry varieties such as Vitaberry, Pink Candy, and Goldberry, as well as new pear varieties including Shinhwa and Greensys, were showcased. Through customized export consultations, opportunities to expand overseas distribution networks were explored.
Notably, Shine Muscat grapes from Seosan achieved export agreements with buyers from Vietnam and Thailand. Substantial results were also achieved with American buyers, including discussions on listing pears on online shopping malls and conducting local promotional campaigns.
A provincial official stated, "This expo created an opportunity for Chungnam’s agricultural products to be recognized overseas," adding, "We will continue to lead the way in increasing farm income and expanding smart farms by developing export-specialized varieties and establishing cold-chain distribution systems."
