Gyeonggi Province will conduct a community security survey from September to October to assess the needs of local residents in various sectors.
This social security survey is a statutory survey conducted in accordance with Article 35 of the Social Security Benefits Act. The results will serve as foundational data for Gyeonggi Province's 6th Community Security Plan (2027-2030).
Gyeonggi Province and its 31 cities and counties will carry out an integrated survey as a consortium. Under the supervision of the Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation, the survey will target 52,000 households with adult residents aged 19 and older living in the 31 cities and counties. The field survey will be conducted by Gallup Korea.
The survey will be conducted through household visits using tablet PCs for electronic data collection. To ensure easy participation for people with disabilities, the elderly, and multicultural households, the survey will provide sign language videos, audio files, visual aids, and foreign language support. The questionnaire consists of common questions on social security, questions related to households at risk of solitary death and integrated care, as well as additional questions tailored to the characteristics of each city and county.
After completing the resident needs survey in October, Gyeonggi Province will conduct an in-depth analysis of the statistical data by region and household characteristics (such as general households and those subject to intensive survey), and will publish the final report in December.
Based on the survey results, Gyeonggi Province plans to establish its 6th Community Security Plan (2027-2030).
Kim Hoon, Director of Welfare at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Identifying the needs of residents is the most important aspect of the community security plan," and urged, "As the results of the social security survey will serve as foundational data for determining the direction of Gyeonggi Province's welfare policy for the next four years, we ask for the active participation and cooperation of residents when surveyors visit."
