Gyeonggi Province will hold the interactive media art experience event "Orbit Water Pagoda" at three locations-Goyang Eoullimnuri in Goyang, Jangan Park in Suwon, and Gonjian Ceramic Park in Gwangju-over two months in September and October, offering visitors a chance to explore cultural technology content.
Orbit Water Pagoda is an interactive media art experience centered around the themes of water and a pagoda that grants wishes. This exhibition content creates a fantastic atmosphere by combining light, sound, and water.
The exhibition features a massive 12-meter-tall water pagoda and various water-shaped sculptures. Visitors can roll and stack these water forms to build their own wish pagodas, and also enter their wishes via QR codes to share them on an augmented reality display.
"Or:bit" is a compound word combining "orbit" (the path of a celestial body) and "bit" (light), symbolizing the idea of illuminating various parts of Gyeonggi Province using light.
The "Or:bit Water Pagoda" content was designed in 2023 to reflect the regional characteristics of the former Gyeonggi Provincial Government building, with the concept of water representing the fulfillment of wishes. Since its launch in 2023, it has been held at seven locations and attracted over 20,000 visitors.
Kang Jisook, head of the Gyeonggi Province Content Industry Division, said, "Since 2023, Orbit Water Pagoda has received an enthusiastic response from residents, and I hope many people will visit again this year to experience new cultural technology."
