Shows Off "Soda Pop" Dance Learned from Daughter Tara
World-renowned tennis star Novak Djokovic (Serbia) has joined the K-Pop Demon Hunters craze.
On September 2 (local time), after defeating Taylor Fritz (United States) 3-1 (6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4) in the men's singles quarterfinals at the US Open in New York, Djokovic celebrated his advancement to the semifinals with a dance ceremony.
The dance Djokovic performed that day was the choreography for the song "Soda Pop" from K-Pop Demon Hunters.
The Netflix animation K-Pop Demon Hunters tells the story of the popular K-pop girl group Huntrix protecting the world from evil spirits, and has gained global popularity.
Djokovic, who revealed that it was his daughter Tara's 8th birthday that day, said, "I've practiced various dances at home, and this was one of them," adding, "I hope Tara smiles when she sees this dance in the morning."
He continued, "My daughter taught me this dance," and introduced to the fans at the stadium, "Soda Pop is the title of the song from K-Pop Demon Hunters."
Djokovic also admitted, "My daughter told me it's become a global sensation, but honestly, I didn't really know about it."
