Busan Gijang County Launches Customized Home-Visit Lifelong Learning Program '1+1 Healing You' for Seniors

Gijang County in Busan, led by County Governor Jung Jongbok, will operate the home-visit lifelong learning program "1+1 Healing You" for elderly residents in need of care until October.

This program is a customized support model that combines elderly care services with lifelong education, designed to provide lifelong learning opportunities to local seniors while also supporting their healthy daily lives.

The program will run for two months, from September to October, in five towns and districts, targeting 50 seniors aged 65 or older who require care. Life support workers and lifelong education instructors will visit the homes directly to provide safety, daily living, and emotional support, as well as offer hands-on lifelong learning activities such as making natural products.

The county expects this program to help address care blind spots such as the risk of solitary death, depression, and stress, and to bring renewed vitality to the daily lives of seniors.

Governor Jung Jongbok stated, "I hope that this program, which provides both learning and care, will improve the quality of life for our seniors and become a model example of integrated community care."
