AI Home Agent, Black Box Door Lock, and Other Products Receive Positive Reviews
HDC Labs is enhancing its competitiveness in the smart home market with AI-powered products such as the AI Home Agent and the Black Box Door Lock.
On September 3, HDC Labs announced that it is introducing smart home systems and products that combine differentiated features and design by integrating AI technology with its design philosophy. Last year, the company strengthened its research and development system by recruiting leading AI experts and establishing a dedicated organization, securing a large number of specialized personnel. HDC Labs is directly developing and commercializing core technologies such as natural language processing, object recognition, and energy optimization.
The Bestin AI Home Agent developed by HDC Labs is an intelligent home service agent that combines natural language processing (NLP) technology with a home network control system. It distinguishes users through voice recognition and analysis and provides personalized lifestyle information. Residents can reserve exclusive facilities such as health clubs and golf practice ranges, while sustainability features such as energy saving have also been strengthened. When the wall pad is not in use, it displays photos or artwork uploaded by the user. Earlier this year, the AI Home Agent won the main prize at the IF Design Award, recognized for its excellence in both functionality and design.
Last month, HDC Labs' Black Box Door Lock and Smart Energy Meter were selected as outstanding design products at the Good Design Award, marking the company's 13th consecutive year of receiving the honor. The Black Box Door Lock supports real-time access monitoring and automatic recording of unfamiliar individuals. Its intuitive handle and simple exterior are designed for safe and convenient use by all age groups. The Smart Energy Meter is an ultra-slim device that integrates lighting, heating, and ventilation controls into a single unit, featuring a thickness of 7.8 mm, a black smog display, and a slide touch UI.

HDC Labs and HDC Hyundai Development Company are advancing future residential innovation models at I-Park through collaboration. A representative example is Seoul One I-Park, where AI Home Agent-based residential assistants, AI security solutions, and AI building management systems are being fully implemented. The AI Home Agent learns residents' lifestyle patterns and complex data to provide customized services such as energy management, parking guidance, and community facility reservations. The AI security solution is integrated with CCTV and access control systems to enhance safety within the complex through abnormal behavior detection, fire and intrusion prevention, and real-time notifications. The AI building management system automatically optimizes lighting, heating, and cooling, and swiftly monitors facility abnormalities.
Additionally, Gwangmyeong Central I-Park has adopted smart managing services that incorporate AI and IoT (Internet of Things) technologies, including AI-based fire monitoring, AI parking location notifications, and automated management of double parking and illegal parking. Seodaemun Central I-Park, which began occupancy in June, has implemented a smart home platform based on the I-Park Home App and achieved the highest AAA rating in home network building certification.
In April, HDC Labs signed a business agreement with Hyundai Elevator to develop an AI-based elevator operation system. Applying AI object analysis technology to elevator operations can improve operational efficiency by more than 30 percent. In addition, features such as fire and fall detection and automatic recognition of wheelchair users will make elevator use even safer.
An HDC Labs representative stated, "The collaboration between HDC Hyundai Development Company and HDC Labs is not just about synergy, but represents innovation that elevates AI-based smart residential services to the next level through the convergence of construction and ICT. We will continue to expand advanced AI solutions so that all customers using buildings, including apartments, can enjoy safer and more convenient lives."
