Anti-Corruption and Integrity Training Held for Seo-gu Officials
Focus on Eradicating Unethical Practices and Fostering a Culture of Integrity
On September 3, Seo-gu District Office in Gwangju (headed by Mayor Kim Ikang) conducted anti-corruption and integrity training for more than 100 senior officials, newly appointed, and promoted public officials at the Deulbul Hall in the Seo-gu Office.
On the 3rd, Seo-gu District Office in Gwangju held a second half-year anti-corruption integrity training titled "Integrity Guide Leading a Trust-Based Organization" for its employees at the Deulbul Hall in the Seo-gu Office building. Provided by Seo-gu District Office, Gwangju
This training was led by Park Yeonjeong, an integrity specialist instructor from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, who focused on eradicating irregularities perpetuated by established practices, the code of conduct for public officials to prevent abuse of power, and case studies of violations of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, delivering a lecture centered on real-life examples.
In particular, the training specifically addressed inappropriate behaviors that have been overlooked under the guise of tradition, such as forcing meal order, assigning personal errands, and coercing participation in private gatherings, emphasizing that these actions are major factors undermining trust in the public service.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu District, stated, "Integrity is not the responsibility of a single individual, but a shared value that everyone must uphold together," adding, "I hope all public officials, based on a sense of public duty, will take responsibility for the organization and society and join in fostering a culture of integrity in the public sector."
Meanwhile, the district is working to spread a culture of integrity by introducing integrity systems and providing real-time consultation services every month through the mobile integrity communication channel 'Cheongnyeom Kkaekkeut Talk', alongside various integrity campaigns and educational programs.
